Movie Money!

If your family is anything like my family, well, then you are movies buffs! We love to rent and buy movies, as well as go to the theater to see new releases sometimes! And sometimes, with the amount of money we spend on our movie habits, it can get a little bit crazy. So now we enjoy movie streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Redbox, and all those sorts, some free, some with a fee. But what in the world do we do with all of the DVD’s that we have already accumulated and probably will never watch again?

Well, sell them, of course! And I do not mean at a garage sale or back to a movie store! I mean selling them online! We can get cash for our old movies! How awesome is that? It lets us keep fueling our movie habit, ha ha! I do not know if that is good or bad, but it sure us fun! And there are some really great movies coming out that we did not get to go to the theater to see, and are anxious to watch at home. Movies like: Iron Man 3, Gatsby, The Croods, The Heat, The Internship, etc. Plus, getting cash for our old movies also can allow us to have a date night out once in a while to actually go and see a movie in the theater! Like the new Hunger Games (woot woot!), and Captain Phillips, and the new version of Carrie! Eeeks! We love movies, as you can tell, so it is nice to find creative ways to get to be able to do something that we love and enjoy.

What are some of your favorite movies of all time? I still love Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves with Kevin Costner. Some movies are just too good to not love!

 

The Croods Indoor Adventure Party

The Croods is coming to DVD and Blu ray TOMORROW - October 1st and we got to celebrate with an awesome party, courtesy of Fox Home Entertainment (thanks!).

Eep (Emma Stone) is a girl in a family of cavemen living and hunting in pre-historic times, talking about how her family is one of the few to survive, mainly due to the strict rules of her overprotective father, Grug (Nicolas Cage). In their cave home, Grug tells a story to the family, which includes his wife Ugga (Catherine Keener), his daughter Sandy, his son Thunk (Clark Duke), and his mother-in-law Gran (Cloris Leachman) with a character who mirrors Eep's curious nature. He uses this story to warn the family that exploration and new things pose a threat to their survival, and says to never not be afraid. This irritates the bored and adventurous Eep, and when the family falls asleep after dark, she ignores her father's advice and leaves the cave when she sees a light moving outside.

Seeking the light's source, she meets Guy (Ryan Reynolds), a clever and inventive cave boy. She at first attacks him but then becomes fascinated with the fire he creates and is eager to learn more. He tells her about his theory that the world is reaching its end and asks her to join him. She refuses and Guy leaves, but not before giving her a noise-making shell to call him if she needs help. Eep is then caught by Grug (who had been searching for her), and is later grounded for what she had done. Grug brings Eep home and is joined by the rest of the family, who Eep tells about Guy and shows the shell given to her, only for them to destroy it in fear of new things. An earthquake then occurs, sending everyone running for the cave, only to be stopped by Grug moments before the cave is destroyed by falling rocks. They climb over the wreckage to discover a land with lush vegetation, much different from their usual surroundings of rocky terrain. Grug takes his family into the forest to find a new cave. The family is chased by a Macawnivore (a large, macaw-colored machairodont later called Chunky) and attacked by a swarm of Piranhakeets (deadly red-furred, piranha-like birds). And this is all just the beginning! We loved this movie and we partied hard and had so much fun!
