Tuesday Talk 7/21/2015

Time for this week's edition of Tuesday Talk! Let's start discussing!

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton: Couple Announces Divorce After 4 Years of Marriage. "This is not the future we envisioned," the singers said in a statement to The Associated Press Monday. Lambert and Shelton, who had been together since 2005, were married in 2011.
Ok. Is anyone really surprised? I called it from the beginning that this was not going to work out. They just never seemed like a couple in love publicly. I mean, you never know. Private lives are always different than public ones. But I just kinda thought, ehhhhh. I am not surprised.

Neil Armstrong: Campaign to Preserve Astronaut's Spacesuit Begins on 46th Moonwalk Anniversary. The National Air and Space Museum launched a crowdfunding campaign Monday to save the deteriorating suit, The Associated Press reports. July 20 marks the anniversary of the 1969 moonwalk.
I think this is a great campaign. I think to be honest that congress or the space program or something should pay for this bit of history. But that is just me. I would donate what I could to the kickstarter campaign, even if it was just a dollar!

Mick Fanning: Shark Attacks Surfer During Final of J-Bay Open Competition in South Africa. "I just saw fins. I was waiting for the teeth," Fanning, who was not injured in the attack, told Sky News Sunday. Following the attack, the World Surf League canceled the remainder of the competition.
I saw the video and was like holy crap! It is scary! And I think that Mick Fanning got lucky! That shark could of really hurt or kill him. He only has a tiny scratch on his hand. That's it. I don't think that the situation has sunk in yet for Fanning. But thank goodness he is okay! So scary!

Tuesday Talk 7/14/15

I'm going to start a new thing on the blog where every Tuesday I chat about my opinions and thoughts on some of the things trending during the week. I hope to engage readers in some good conversation, and maybe even friendly discussion about their thoughts as well. So here goes for this week.

Dent County, Missouri: County Commission Votes to Lower Flags to 'Mourn' Marriage Equality Decision The commission members voted unanimously to lower the flags at county buildings to less than half-staff, The Salem News reported. The commissioner said he is opposed to same-sex marriage.
Are you kidding me? Really? What an embarrassment to the whole state of Missouri. I mean, get real. You need to "mourn" this? I think Marriage Equality is an amazing step forward for our country, in this day and age. Though many may not agree with it, why cause such friction? Anyone ever heard of tolerance??? Sheesh!

Little Ice Age: Scientists' Solar Model Predicts Cold Weather Cycle Arriving Around 2030
University of Northumbria solar researchers have said their model shows a pending "mini ice age" set for the 2030s that will mirror freezing conditions that occurred during the late 17th century.
Well, I was gonna say, I probably won't be alive when this happens, but, ha ha. I'm not that old, okay? So what.....I am from Minnesota. I can handle the cold. But this is a bit extreme. I guess we wait and see what happens, but like everyone else who is a Game Of Thrones fan, I have to say it: Winter Is Coming!

Suicide Squad: Trailer Released for Upcoming Movie Based on DC Villains
The trailer, shown at San Diego Comic-Con, shows the first footage of the movie, directed and written by David Ayer. "Suicide Squad" is expected to arrive in theaters on Aug. 5, 2016.
I am a fan! A huge one! So this is exciting for me! Watch it on YouTube HERE. I love love love Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. Jared Leto is one of my fave actors, but as The Joker, not so much. But I will hold judgement until I see the movie!

The Tuesday Talk 2/1

I would like to start a new weekly meme called The Tuesday Talk, where you make a post about what is going on with your life this week, and then we can link up here and see what others are up to and comment to them and maybe get some new friends and followers. So please join me and link up!

Well, my weekend was crazy busy. Saturday on the spur of the moment Jason decided to treat us to lunch at the new Cadillac Ranch restaurant at the Mall of America. What a cool place. Family friendly and great atmosphere. The service was a bit slow but I think that was because of two reasons. They were insanely busy plus our waitor kept flirting with the ladies at the table next to us. But the food was phenomenal. I had my first ever Minnesota Juicy Lucy and it was so so good! Some of my local friends tell me though that it is not the same as other joints in the Twin Cities that have a Juicy Lucy.

Saturday night we took the kids to spend the night over at Jason's brothers so he and I could go to a movie and the kids could visit with their cousin. Jason and I went to see The Mechanic. I love Jason Statham and the movie was pretty good. Sunday we spent the whole day helping Jason's mom move to her new place. Not fun moving in a Minnesota Winter, but we did ok. I was on kid duty basically anyhow. I did steal a few hours away and took my kids to see my parents since we were in the area. So that was fun.

Coming up this week, I have to type up Jason's thesis paper for him, do some laundry, and then we have a busy weekend ahead of us again. But do you know what I get to do on Friday night? I get Mama Time. Jason rented me a king suite with a whirlpool at a nearby hotel, and I get to go there and spend the night alone. 100% alone. Man, am I looking forward to this. I need it.

Be sure to link up with me so I can check out your posts. Also, look for a new Weekend What's Up meme that will post on Saturday's so you can link up and tell us what's up with you for the weekends!
