Hodgins Harvest #Holiday2022

I always love a unique gift. Plus if it is practical too, that is even cooler. Hodgins Harvest is a certified organic mushroom farm located in Rockland County, NY. They grow oyster, lion's mane, black poplar, chestnut, maitake, and other specialty mushrooms for the local community. They produce mushroom extracts, powders, and meal kits for everyone.
We got the Oyster Grow Kit - The extra-large grow kits have 6.5lbs of certified organic mushroom mycelium in them, enough to grow 3+ pounds of mushrooms across multiple flushes. Just pull the cardboard circle off the back of the kit, mist it 2-3 times a day and you'll have your own crop of fresh oyster mushrooms in 5-10 days. All kits come with a misting bottle, humidity dome and detailed directions in the top of the box. Our kit is currently growing, and it is so cool to watch the progress. We cannot wait to cook with the mushrooms!
We also received the Mushroom Risotto - Mushroom risotto made easy! These kits are made with 3 different types of certified organic mushrooms grown on the farm at Hodgins Harvest and are packed with umami flavor. Just sauté the contents of the package in butter/oil, add white wine and water, then bake for 30-37 minutes. No constant stirring necessary. Super easy and so tasty! Anything that is less work for me when I am so busy is awesome. Plus, it is a hit with the family!
