Cast Of Characters - Writer's Workshop #Repost #Originals
I am new to the Writer's Workshop, but I am just going to jump right in! My Cast of Characters that I talk about on my blog are my family.
Let's start with The Hubster! Jason is 31, and currently going to college for his Associates Degree of Applied Sciences. Before starting college, he was a soldier in the United States Army. We were stationed at Fort Hood in Texas. He served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He was training in California to go back for his second tour of duty in Iraq when he got injured. It was an injury to his spine and pelvis. The injury was so severe that he was switched from his regular unit to the Wounded Warrior/Warriors In Transition Unit. After almost a year in WTU, the Army still could not "fix" him, and he got an Honorable Medical Discharge, and we moved back to our home state of Minnesota to raise our son Callan. Once a soldier, always a soldier, and my husband is my hero. He is funny and charismatic and so smart it astonishes me sometimes. We've been together since we were 15, married since we were 24, and all these years later, he is still the love of my life, my best friend, and my soulmate.
Our first little character that we created is our son Callan. Callan was born in 2008 in Texas. He is our miracle baby. It took 5 years of fertility treatments to get him, and he came with a vengeance! He is stubborn, and defiant, and independent, and the smartest toddler I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He drives me insane, but God love that little boy!
Mason is our little sneaky surprise baby. After Callan we were told basically, we would never have more kids, but suddenly, there was Mason! Ha! He was born in 2009 in Minnesota, and he will be 1 years old in October! He is inquisitive and quiet. The thinker. The observer. He is so funny; he makes me laugh every day. He is the kind of baby that really is hard to stay mad at. One look, and you're a goner!
As for me, I am the glue that holds it all together. Though, sometimes I am not sure how well I do. I am a stay-at-home mama who is in need of lots of adult time. And I don't get it. I spend 24 hours a day with toddlers. I'm bound to be a little nutty! But I love my life, and I love all my characters, and I would not change the cast up one bit!
