Getting Your Foot In The Door

Owning a small business, sometimes it can be hard to find customers, even with a blog it can be hard to find leads to get business or media and marketing partners or opportunities to do reviews, interviews, reviews, etc. It took me a long time to get my foot in the door. And though a lot of people do not consider a blog to be a small business, and I am not even at the point that a lot of the blogs out there are at, it can be an income generating venue for a lot of people. I am by no means rolling in the dough, but I make nickels and dimes, and a lot of times I have made a few bucks to help my family out when it needed to. It has by no means replaced my full time job, as some bloggers have claimed their blog has (I wish), but they have the connections and the time that I do not. And the leads. Pronexis provides small business owners with a fully integrated solution for their lead generation, lead management, and Pronexis lead handling.

Starting a small business is not easy. Like I said, it probably took me a good five years before I was getting any leads that were bigger than other small businesses. But that was okay with me too. Because as a blogger, I was small time (really still am), and I enjoy helping other small businesses get the word out about their products. Because basically I am free advertising.

And advertising is key. My usual only fee is to keep the product. And I will promote it on my blog, on my Facebook, my Twitter, my Pintrest, my Instagram. Not that I have a lot of followers, ha ha. But it gets the word out in some small way. And even if one person likes it on my social media, then there is one more like or share for that company. And that is how a company grows. The power of social media! Whoever thought of making social media is a genius, because life is apparently a popularity contest. I mean, I do not know any other way to put it. “Liking” a page essentially generates the product’s or company’s awareness, and that is a good thing. It gets them out there, gets them known to the world. It is the modern day word of mouth and it is amazing! Did you see such and such online? Here let me share it with you. And then you like it, and share it, and all of your friends see it, and some will like it and share it, and BOOM! It goes viral. And there you have it. Genius I tell you.

I think a good advertising campaign goes a long way. What are some of the biggest companies or products you have shared online? Who do you think has the best advertising campaigns?
