About The Book:

In contrast, Bella’s old friend Suzie - and Sam’s older brother, Michael - seem to have worked it all out, leaving Bella to wonder where she went wrong. Spanning over a decade, told in alternating voices, The Grown Ups explores the indelible bonds between friends and family and the challenges that threaten to divide them.

My Thoughts:

This is a great coming of age story, that goes even farther into it. I love the telling of the story from all the different sides. I love that even officially as "grown ups" these characters still have to grow up, and learn what the means for themselves and their lives.

About The Author:

 After making a career out of changing careers, from PR to tending bar, and from waitressing to managing a modern dance company, Robin Antalek eventually gave in to the voices in her head and began writing fiction. She studied at The New York State Writer's Institute at the State University of New York at Albany, and has published in many literary journals: Sun Dog: The Southeast Review, Literary Mama, among others, and has twice been a finalist in Glimmer Train's Family Matters contests as well as a finalist for The Tobias Wolf Award for Short Fiction. She lives in a very needy Victorian house in Saratoga Springs, New York, with her husband, two daughters, and three dogs.
