Vive La France! July 14th is Bastille Day and while we hope you won’t feel the need to storm any nearby prisons, who doesn’t love another reason to raise a glass in the summer? Below are some of our favorite revolution-inspired cocktails made with Camus Cognac or Lucid Absinthe – both hand crafted in France. So grab a glass, don some red white and blue and Santé!
The Marie Antoinette – No cake required!
1 oz. Camus VS Elegance Cognac
¼ oz. raspberry liqueur
¼ oz. Laurent-Perrier Brut Champagne
Garnish with Chinese star anise
Combine Camus VS Elegance Cognac and raspberry liqueur in a Champagne flûte. Top with Laurent-
Perrier Brut Champagne. Garnish with Chinese star anise and serve.
Dauphin’s Dream – A classic cocktail worthy of a king.
½ oz. Lucid Absinthe
½ oz. grenadine
2 oz. calvados
1 oz. gin
In a cocktail shaker add all ingredients and ice. Shake and strain into a coupe and serve.
Robespierre’s Republique – Support your right to sip delicious cocktails.
2 oz. Camus VS Elegance Cognac
½ oz. Aperol
½ oz. St. Germain
¾ oz. lemon juice
1 dash of rhubarb bitters
Flamed orange twist for garnish
Combine ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into cocktail glass. Garnish with a flamed
orange twist and serve.
The Lafayette – This cocktail will be a winner with both French and American sippers.
1 oz. Lucid Absinthe
2 oz. pear nectar
½ oz. simple syrup
½ oz. lemon juice
Handful of sliced cucumber
In a cocktail shaker add liquid ingredients and ice. Shake vigorously and strain over ice in a rocks glass,
add cucumber wedges and serve.
