Mandatory Release Blog Tour

Mandatory Release by Jess Riley

About The Book:
With appeal for fans of Jonathan Tropper, Tom Perrotta, and Laurie Notaro, this snarky mash-up of Girls and Oz is so painfully honest you might think you’re reading a memoir - except the author isn’t a smart-ass guy in a wheelchair who works in a prison. Thirty-year-old Graham Finch spends his days trying to rehabilitate inmates and his nights trying to rehabilitate his love life - until a new coworker, aka his high school crush Drew Daniels, walks through the prison gates one hot summer morning. Drew is on the run from a painful past that’s nearly crushed her faith in love. Together, they might have just what it takes to mend their hearts. If only finding their way to one another were easier than working with convicted felons. Loaded with twisted humor and pathos, Mandatory Release is a darkly comic, unexpectedly sexy love story about broken people putting themselves back together and learning that no matter what you lock up - a person, secrets, or your heart - sooner or later, everything must be released.

My Thoughts:
This is such an unexpected book! I loved it! It is not your average love-story. I love the twists and turns, and how not everything happens the way you would expect it. The characters are great, and real! A really great read!

About The Author:
Jess Riley’s experiences teaching in a prison inspired Mandatory Release. Her debut novel was Driving Sideways, a Target bestseller now in its fourth printing, published by Random House in 2008. She lives in Oshkosh, Wisconsin with her husband.
