Peaceful Passage

Peaceful Passage by Kim West

About The Book:
Peaceful Passage is truly the essential, all-in-one guide to handling every aspect of caring for a dying loved one and yourself on their final journey. Included are guidelines for partnering with hospice, the how-to of daily care, confronting fears and emotional issues, navigating marriage, family, children and career, working through inner conflicts with faith and handling the myriad details and arrangements of an at-home death. With this book as the guide the reader can find peace in this most heart-wrenching and heartwarming of journeys.

My Thoughts:
It was a bit hard for me to get through this guide-book, after still recently losing my youngest son in a fast and tragic way. There was no way to prepare me for that, at all. But the parts of the book - about healing within yourself were helpful. This book is also sort of a "heads-up" for me to prepare for my grandparents deaths, which will be sooner rather than later. A helpful book for someone who is caring for a terminal loved one.

About The Author:
Kim West is a counselor, author and teacher who has a heart for helping people find healing, make sense of their lives and have hope for their futures. She holds a PhD in Clinical Pastoral Counseling and a Master of Divinity. Her newest book, "Peaceful Passage," is a combination of her counseling and teaching skills and her skills acquired while caring for her dying mother. Her heart's desire is that this essential resource will enable the reader to create a truly peaceful passage for themselves and their dying loved one. West lives in Arizona with her husband and has three grown children and can't wait for more grandchildren.
