I Want You To Know Me......

I Want You To Know Me...Love, Your American Hero by Vickie Mullins

About The Book:
When you signed on with our country's armed services, you made a conscious decision to defend our way of life. You knew you had to make some difficult sacrifices.....but your mission is honorable. Even though you're away you don't have to sacrifice your connection to your loved ones. This book makes it possible to create a lasting connection. The I Want You To Know Me series of books are the ultimate family show and tell books that make memories, create connections and leave a lasting legacy. They ask and answer curious questions that each of us probably don't know about our loved ones and ourselves. Unlike other video and life story journal opportunities that can be overwhelming, this book is filled with the little things that endear us to those we love. It will make you laugh as you discover your place on the family tree.

My Thoughts:
I love love this particular version of the book for The American Hero. It is a wonderful way for a soldier to let his family know all about him, especially in war time. I am having Jason fill it out for Callan. The questions are sometimes silly (Can you wiggle your ears?), and other times insightful (Is your glass half empty, or half full?). None of the questions are the hard ones, or deep thinking ones. Just simple, real, and honest.

About The Author:
Vickie began speaking professionally in 2005 on the heels of authoring the first of eight volumes in her 'I Want You to Know Me' heirloom book series. Designed to make memories, create connections and leave a lasting legacy, these interactive, "fill in the blanks" books ask and answer curious questions most of us probably don't know about family members. Vickie was inspired to write these books by the tragic early death of a close friend, who left behind four young children, kids who would never get to know their mom, or what made her the unique person she was. An energetic, entertaining communicator, Vickie's friendly demeanor and caring style touch the hearts of audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Her unique program, based on her book series, is a combination of stories, both contemporary and historical, that are peppered with humor and salted with tears, as she shares the legacy of curious questions and answers - the OOHs! AAHs! and AHAs! - that tie generations together. Vickie's audiences always leave with a new-found understanding of the importance of the "real stuff" that matters to those who love us.
