I've seen some comments on my Twitter recently about people wondering who the winner was of giveaways, since I never post them. Also, that some people may not think my giveaways are "real" because I never post the winner, and it has been said that some bloggers make up giveaway (don't ask me what the point of that is - weird), and I get a lot of low entries. I used to post the winner all the time with a snap shot of the Random.org page, but I stopped because it seemed like pointless posts when I just email the winner anyhow, and a lot of my email subscribers would get needless posts. But I think I will take some advice and start posting the winners. Or maybe having a separate page where I list the winners? What are all your thoughts on this?

I like to post and email - just so there's no 'question' to who won, you know? Then it's there for everyone else who entered to see as well as for the winner - who might miss an email (this has happened to a winner of one of my giveaways before!)
ReplyDeleteThere's no question that your giveaways are "real". I have been fortunate to have won a few times from your blog. (You work with great sponsors who send out their prizes promptly. I've been impressed with how quickly the prizes I've won from your blog arrive!). Anyway, a separate page listing winners would be great. That way you could put people's minds to rest about who won what.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who enters giveaways a lot, it's just confusing because each blogger does it differently. Some post it and don't e-mail the winner, but expect the winner to e-mail them (I have to say, I do not like that because I can't and don't read every single post of every single blog that I follow). While others e-mail the winners and never post who won the giveaway, but how do those of who have entered know what each blogger does? So, we wonder if we maybe won something.
ReplyDeleteWhat I've seen that I think works well is when the giveaway host puts multiple winners in one post after confirming the winners and lists the giveaway each winner has won.
Just my thoughts :-)
I would like to know winners.
ReplyDeletei think you should do whatever you want... having been fortunate enough to win a couple of your giveaways, i know they're real. :)
ReplyDeleteinstead of doing a seperate post for each winner, you could do a seperate tab to post winners on. that way, whoever is interested can check on their own.
