Pop Or Soda? - Challenge Day

Forever I am thinking about this debate. Do you call it soda or pop? I know it basically depends on where you are living in the nation, but even here in Minnesota I have heard people call it both. I call it pop. When we moved to Texas, at restaurants I would order a pop and they knew what I meant. Except one time. At a Subway. I ordered my sandwich and a large pop. The cashier looked at me blankly. "A pop?" she said. And I thought, oh ok, she doesn't get it. So I said soda. And she goes, "Oh, you mean you want a large coke?" And I said, "Yeah, a diet." She looks at me with that blank stare again. "A diet what?" I am about ready to lose it. "A Diet Coke." She seems to be getting mad herself and she says, "What flavor Diet coke?" I laughed. Really? Was she stupid? Then the person behind me said, "She means you want Diet 7-up, Diet Orange, Diet Cola?" I was like, "Um, I just said Diet Coke". And the person said, "Down here darlin', a coke is what we call all soda." Well....what the hell. So anyways, I got accustomed to that. And then we moved back to Minnesota. I was at, oh my God, a Subway (I just made this connection! Duh!), and I ordered a sandwich and a large soda. The cashier smirked at me and said, "You mean a pop?" Well no shit Sherlock. From now on I am saying "Gimme a Diet Coca-Cola, beeotch!"
