Hen Parties - Challenge Day

For those gals who are married, or maybe soon to be...did you have a Hen Party before you got married? (A bachelorette party?) I didn't, because it basically went like this. Jason: So, hey, uh, I enlisted in the Army today. Me: Yeah, so I'll find a judge to marry us ok? And that was that. Plus, well most of my friends are Roosters, not Hens! *wink* Jason did not have a Bachelor Party either. We always just kind of did our things together. Got married in December. In January had a huge reception/party at the bar and then off he went to play soldier. Big huge party when he came back from Basic. Big huge party before he left for Iraq. Big huge party on his R&R. Big huge party - and amazing vacation - when he got back from Iraq. But it has never been just about him, or just about me. Always about us. You can't think of Hayley without Jason our friends always say. I suppose being in each others lives and each others best friends for 17 years will do that to ya. It never actually occurred to either one of us to have "one last fling while we were still single", or whatever people say about a bachelor/ette party. Because Jason and I were never single - ha! Besides, I can go to the bar or strip club or whatever and get totally drunk anytime I want - not that I want to in my old age, but isn't that essentially what a bachelor/ette party is? Hmmmm.

Look, Ma! CHALLENGE Day 3!

  1. Haha. I never heard it referred to as a Hen Party lol. I remember when you got married! You should have a retro one...about being married? hmmmm.

For my party, we didn't go to a strip club but Dave did. :) I actually went to my first one my bday week. It was interesting.....we went on a Monday and it was lame. So, I'm hoping to check it out on Fri/Sat sometime and see what the hype is all about. lol

  2. Very sweet story. How great that you've been together so long and knew you should be together forever at such a young age. I never had a hen party because my hubby and I eloped.
