Living Donor Day #DonateLife #LivingDonorDay

Donate Life Living Donor Day is a celebration during National Donate Life Month that honors living organ and tissue donors for saving and healing lives! In 2022, more than 6,400 people made the decision to give one of their kidneys or a part of their liver to someone waiting for a second chance at life. Others gave the healing gift of birth tissue. Birth tissue includes tissues such as placenta and amniotic membrane. Grafts derived from birth tissue promote natural wound healing.

Mason's Tribute

This is Mason's Tribute that will be featured on the Gallery Of Hope at the LifeSource facility in Minnesota.
Mason Kolb
October 16, 2009 - August 29, 2011
Donor, Minnesota

Through our loss of our youngest son, Mason Daniel Kolb, we have some small victory. Mason donated his organs, and saved 5 lives, and improved 21 lives with his musculoskeletal donation. To us, that is astonishing, and Mason is our hero! Mason passed away due to an accident at home in 2011, causing Brain Death. He was two months shy of his 2nd birthday.

Mason laughed more than any kid we ever knew. Always happy.
Mason was born in October 2009. He was truly a gift from God, since after our first son, Callan, was born in 2008, we were not supposed to be able to have more children due to infertility issues. But Mason was stubborn – from fetus and onward! He was a very healthy baby boy and growing into an inquisitive toddler. He adored his big brother and wanted to do everything just like Callan. Mason was an observer and would sit back and just take everything in. He was incredibly smart. He had a naughty streak in him too, but we could never ever stay mad at him when he did something naughty. He would give us what we call his “squishy face look”, and you could not help but smile. Mason laughed more than any kid we ever knew. Very rarely was he ever crying or pouting. We were just starting to plan Mason’s 2nd birthday party. He was 22-months old when he died from an accident at home. Something deep inside of both parents knew that our little guy was not going to make it, and before the nurses asked, we already knew that we would donate Mason’s organs. That is a very hard decision for a parent of such a young child to make…...but you would have had to of known Mason to know that it was the right choice. He was a giver and sharer in all things in his little life. We wholeheartedly did the right thing and have no regrets. We as a family are so honored that our son was able to help so many others.
With love, from Mama, Daddy, and Big Brother Callan.

It is the National Donor Sabbath. We will be lighting 5 candles tonight. One for our grief. One for our courage to go on without him. One for our memories. One for our hope. One for our love. And one in honor of Mason. #MasonsMission

25 Forty Christian T-Shirts

25 Forty is a Christian t-shirt company based on Matthew 25:40, $5 from every product sold or given away goes directly to help those who need help most. If you do not know what Matthew 25:40 is, it is scripture from the bible that reads: Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. Which I interpret means to help others, no matter their circumstances. We were very blessed to be given some gifts from 25 Forty. Jason, Callan, and I each got a few t-shirts and we also got a beautiful abstract art print that reminded us of Mason, and with his birthday coming up in a few days, it just seemed appropriate:
Honor Jesus' sacrifice at the cross with this fine art print. This Christian wall art features the image of a heart made up of numerous small crosses. The middle of the heart is marked by a larger cross. This artwork expresses the message that in God's word is love, and that love and faith are not able to be separated. God's love for us, John 3:16. Jesus' love for us and for His Father in obeying His Father at the cross, Mark 14:36.
Callan was over the moon for his t-shirts. His favorite was his 25:40 tee.

Jason enjoyed his Palladian cross tee the most.
I really really love my red cross tee.
On a personal note, through every $5 in gift cards spent via a giveaway or purchase (see here), there is a donation made, and on our behalf in honor of our Mason, a donation was made to Donate Life. This really touched our hearts and let us know that there are still good people out there, even through these dark times. We just felt so blessed.

Check it all out at 25 Forty on Facebook, as well as 25 Forty on Twitter, and 25 Forty on Instagram.
