5 Signs That it is Time to Replace Your Bra

When was the last time you told yourself you needed a new bra? It is one of those outfits you think should last you a long time, but unfortunately, it has to be replaced. Breast sizes change, and what used to fit before can become a nuisance. Ideally, a bra should be replaced after around six months. If you have a large selection of bras, it may be longer than that. But if you are limited to only a few, after six months, the bra has to go. With that said, here are several signs that will tell you it is time to shop for new bras.

The Straps Have Become Loose

One of the most annoying things about an old bra is when the straps start becoming loose. Every few minutes, you have to keep adjusting the straps because they keep sliding down. When this happens, start putting some money aside as you need a new bra. Your bra’s straps are what support those cups holding your breast. If they are no longer offering that support, then they are not useful anymore.

The Back is Stretched Out

With time, the back of your bra will naturally stretch out. When this happens, you will find that you have to hook your bra in a tighter position to get the proper support and feel comfortable. However, when it gets to a point where even the tightest hooks are still loose, your bra is worn out. Lulalu, bra experts, recommend replacing it immediately. You can be sure that if you wear a bra with a stretched-out back, it will not be comfortable. You will feel like you have put on a loose undergarment the whole time.

Painful Underwire

When a bra gets worn out, the underwire may start digging into your chest or poke out of your bra’s band. If the underwire is poking out, expect to find marks on your chest once you take off your bra. No matter how attached you are, the moment your bra starts causing you pain, it has to go. Even if you try putting the underwire in and sewing the opening, that is a temporary fix. Soon the underwire will come out again.

Stretched Out Cups

If you start noticing that your cups are no longer as comfortable or supportive as they used to be, they have stretched out. This is a normal process that happens after wearing a bra for too long. Also, when your breast volume decreases, your bra cups can also be too big for you. Either way, get the right bra fitting and get yourself some new bras.

Your Taste Has Changed

Tastes evolve. One minute you prefer denim jackets, and the next, you have moved on to leather. The same can happen to your bra. If you start feeling that certain types of bras are too dull for you, you are allowed to change your taste. As much as bras are undergarments, when one wears something you like, it can instill confidence.

The signs mentioned above are an indication you need to go bra shopping. There is no point in holding on to something that is no longer comfortable or sexy. Toss those old pieces away and get yourself new fitting bras.
