Ways to Make a Birthday at Home Feel More Special

Having a birthday party isn't always an option, but this has been especially true in the past few weeks. Not getting to mingle or get together can make a birthday feel less special. Although you may not be able to go out and do all of the things you want, here are a few ways to make sure your family members have a good time on their birthday.

Have a Drive-by Party

Drive-by parties have become a popular option during the quarantine. It's a great way for family and friends to get to wish the special person happy birthday while still maintaining a safe distance. The party doesn't have to be limited to just sitting in the yard while watching people go by though. You can pick up or order decorations to make it look like a real party. You can get a cake as well and have a special dinner delivered.

Find a Unique Gift

You can still find a unique present even if you aren't able to go out shopping. Look online for something that they never would have thought of. You can, of course, still get them what they asked for, but it can also be fun to get something more personal, such as a personalized birthday book for child. For adults, this can mean a custom cutting board or a fun wine glass. It's also a good idea to try to find something that they can enjoy while being stuck at home, such as a fun game or puzzle.

Start New Traditions

You may have birthday traditions that aren't possible this year, such as going out to eat or going bowling. This is a great time to start new traditions at home though. One fun thing to do is to have a birthday sign from a professional sign company put up in the yard to surprise them. This can also be great decoration for the drive-by party. Try making them their favorite breakfast in bed or letting them be in charge for the day and pick everything that you guys are going to do.

The important thing is to do what your loved one wants and just let them know you care. Try not to worry about not being able to do everything you want to celebrate them. Small gestures can go a long way, so do what you can, and you'll probably find that you all end up having a great time together.
