Coming Up - National Brothers & Sisters Day - May 2nd

Did you know that tomorrow, May 2nd, is National Brothers and Sisters Day? They say 89% of Americans have a brother and/or a sister. I happen to have 4 all together! And I'm the youngest, so the luckiest! Anna, Mamie, Aaron, and Stephanie are my sibs. And I love and hate each of them, ha ha. As adults I think we can all respect one another, but as kids, we tormented and tortured each other, as well as loved each other fiercely. Anna was the oldest and gone out of the house before I could even remember. Mamie and Aaron a year apart, and Stephanie and myself a year apart.

During this time in our world, I think it is most important to let the ones we love know it, and keep in contact with them. And my closest (in distance) sibling is still 108 miles away! So thank goodness for modern technology - for phone calls, texts, and video conferencing. So with us all scattered, it is hard to be together all at once, especially when we all are grown and have our own families. The last time we were all together in fact, was a sad time, during when my son Mason passed away. But they all gathered from across the Midwest as fast as they could to be there for me. And that is what family is about, especially your siblings - your first friends, first enemies, and first protectors. So on this holiday, I celebrate! I rejoice! Because I got to be the little sister who they all love and adore! *Wink* Happy National Brothers & Sisters Day!
