Based on the bestselling novel by author John Green, the romantic drama The Fault In Our Stars tells the story of Hazel Grace Lancaster (Shailene Woodley) and Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort), who fall hopelessly in love after meeting in a Cancer support group, and experience a whirlwind romance that teaches them both what it means to feel truly alive. Laura Dern and Willem Dafoe co-star.
Hazel Grace Lancaster was diagnosed with stage IV Thyroid Cancer when she was 13, but was given a life saving drug at the age of 14. Now a 16 year old, Hazel does not go to school and spends most of her time at home with her family. Her mom makes her attend a support group, where kids with Cancer talk about their lives. Hazel hates this group, until one day Augustus Waters shows up. Augustus is currently in remission with Osteosarcoma, which already took his right leg. Augustus takes an interest in Hazel and they begin to form a relationship. They both learn about life, death, and the memory they will leave behind.
I did not read the book before I watched the movie. But this movie is great! The love story is epic! And there is a twist you aren't expecting. But I won't give away any spoilers. The DVD releases September 16th!
