"As a family we love to travel, we always find ways to be active when visiting new places. Riding bikes is one of our favorite things to do!"
"As a family we love to go for walks in Central Park and of course Kiyan loves to play basketball like his dad"
“We just get outside together whenever we can and play. I let the kids lead and I play along. We jump on the trampoline; throw a football, splash in puddles. We have fun and get to soak up the beauty of nature, and enjoy each other. Playing together we create those joyful family moments as a family!”
What is the National Family Playdate?
On average, moms say they have 5 family playdates a month, (i.e. time reserved on the calendar where the whole family participates in an activity together), but they’d really like twice as many according to a national survey from Merck Consumer Care’s Active Family Project. Busy schedules make it easy to postpone family time, that’s why the Active Family Project is hosting their 2nd Annual National Family Playdate.
The Active Family Project is a consumer health and wellness initiative designed to help empower moms to take back family playtime and start living healthier, more active lifestyles by adopting a new daily routine – scheduling family playtime with the ones you care about most.
How does it work?
Moms across the country, including celebrities such as: actress Angie Harmon, Olympian Jennie Finch, and DJ/TV personality LaLa Anthony, have already committed to celebrate the National Family Playdate. You can find out what they plan to do and get your own inspiration at www.activefamilyproject.com and www.facebook.com/activefamilyproject.
Help create more playplaces for families across America by visiting the Active Family Project’s Facebook page and sharing one of their Playdate-themed posts. Every post share will trigger a $1 donation to KaBOOM! (up to $15,000).
