Love Cooking Company #Giveaway

I have loved to bake for years now and I have to admit I am a sucker for the latest gadgets, aids, and just plain fun stuff for the kitchen. I love to try out new products and create amazing things in my kitchen. Now that I have a 5-year-old grandson that loves to help me in the kitchen, it is even more fun for me. He is like a little sponge, soaking in everything I show him and tell him. We are making memories that I hope he remembers his entire life.

I was recently given the opportunity to try Love Cooking Company's Mrs. Fields Cookie Cuttables in the birthday pattern and I loved it! Now, I may have a zillion cookie cutters in my kitchen drawers but none of them are like this one. This cookie cuttable has all of the forms you need to spell out Happy Birthday as well as candle and balloon designs. It is so easy to use as well and when you have little hands trying to help, that makes all the difference. All you have to do is simply roll out your cookie dough and press the cookie cutter grid on top. When you remove the grid, you’ll have 18 birthday-themed cookies: two candles, two party hats, two balloons, and the letters to spell “Happy Birthday.” Just bake and celebrate! It measures 16” x 10.2” x 0.8” and is made of Poly Propylene. Here are few tips for using this product and making it as easy as 1-2-3:

1. Use room temperature rolled dough.
2. Working the cutter back and forth slightly to make deep cuts in the shapes works the best.
3. Use flour to prevent or reduce any sticking.

I had a blast making these cookies with my grandson and as you will see by the pictures we are not tidy bakers but the mess was half of the fun! I used a pre-rolled refrigerated dough but I think it would work better with handmade cookie dough. Do not roll it too thin, I found out the hard way this makes it impossible to pick up the cut dough. Another tip, if you have older cookie sheets, use parchment paper to place the cut dough on. I didn't do this and my old pans caused the first batch to burn on the bottom. My little one was so upset that they were burned but I assured him a new batch was on the way. Also, make sure you pressed down a bit hard when cutting the dough as this helps with getting straight, through and through cuts. We placed them in the oven and patiently, well some more patient than others, waited for them to bake.
