We live in an apartment, so container gardening and planting is what we are able to do on our patio. Here is how to work with a big container:

  1. Prepare the Container

Put some top-quality potting soil into your container, leaving about six inches of room. Shake’n Feed All Purpose Plant Food works well for a container. Arrange your plants in your container without taking them out of their nursery pots. It usually helps to put the tall ones in the center and the short and trailing ones along the edge.

  1. Plant Your Flowers

Now that you have your look, gently take your flowers out of their pots and put them in your container. Fill in the spaces between them with potting soil.

  1. Feed and Water

Once your plants are in, water them thoroughly. You can feed and water them at the same time using the LiquaFeed All Purpose Plant Food Advance Starter Kit. Next, bring some friends over to enjoy your new garden.

Check out the Miracle-Gro Pinterest page and check it out as a forum for gardeners to come together and share gardening stories.
