5 Father's Day Gift Ideas

Father's Day is just around the corner. Are you ready to celebrate with your #1 dad? Don't fret, household consumer expert, Jeanette Pavini has you covered! Here are five gift ideas (and a couple DIY!) that are cost-effective and full of love.

1. Book Lovers: Here is a fun DIY! Cut a piece of 2-inch-wide ribbon 3 inches longer than twice the height of the book. Sew a 1 1/2-inch-by-2-inch photograph to the ribbon by sewing each corner. Give the bookmark with a new book! Coupons galore of Barnes and Noble discounts here!

2. Coupon Book: Give him unbelievable deals he will love! Make a coupon book with 100 percent off washing his car, mowing the lawn, a night at the movies, or an overnight camping trip!

3. Gadgets! Camcorders, laptops, get the idea. Think what he could really use, not just what is "cool". If he is looking to get fit, try an iPod to listen to music while he exercises. If he is a movie lover, maybe get him a new blue-ray player. If he works on the computer all day, try a wireless mouse. Best Buy has something for almost any man. Cash in on coupons here:

4. FOOD! We all know the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Prepare your father a favorite meal of his choice. This will be sure to make him happy!

5. BBQ fun! Pick up a canvas apron, fabric paints, brushes and paint applicators. Give your kids the supplies and let them personalize dad's gift by decorating it "#1 Dad" or any way they like. Add fun "inside" terms of endearment like "Bubba" or "Pop".

  2. Hey Hayley! Thanks a lot for the Father’s Day gift ideas. My dad loves camping, so I wanted to get him something that he would be able to use while he’s out roughing it. As a really early Father’s Day gift, I bought him a Tailgater from Dish, and he’s been using it for camping, barbeques and tailgating parties. A few days ago, my dad had a barbeque and he was using his Tailgater and HDTV to show the Rockies game in HD while he grilled some ribs. I wasn’t going to miss that, so the minute that I got off of work at Dish, I flew over there. Anyways, I may take him on a camping trip or something that he will enjoy on the 17th.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! I LOVE comments! :)
