Boxes Of Secrets by Veronica K. Wright
About The Book:
Veronica Wright had it all together.....or so it seemed. She had four beautiful children, an enviable marriage, and was living the dream she had always imagined. The perfect life that she had masterfully created was merely a mask to hide others from a past of unspeakable horrors that took place in the "perfect" Christian home of her childhood. Now, her carefully kept secrets were beginning to rise to the surface and there was no place left for her to hide. Struggling to keep her marriage intact, she found herself inside a counselor's office in need of redemption. With the guidance of a trusted therapist, she backtracked through the decades where she had methodically packed away her memories in carefully wrapped boxes in a special storage closet in her mind. Ever lurking on imaginary shelves were the dark family secrets sealed tight by an unspoken strict code of silence. No one, including her husband, had any knowledge of her unimaginable childhood where few would have survived. All that was soon going to change...
My Thoughts:
I would not say this is a book about how to help or guide you in your healing. This is more just the story of one woman and what she did about her "secret" and how she healed and dealt with it. It is a very good read, and it will keep you hooked until the end. It is a rather long book, but you will flow through it fairly fast, because you won't want to put it down.
About The Author:
For over 20 years Veronica has been a highly sought after bible teacher and speaker and now emerges as a “gritty and eloquent” writer. Her first book, “Boxes of Secrets – A gripping true account of overcoming sexual abuse in a ‘perfect’ Christian home”, led to much media attention. She was part of a team motivating over two hundred women’s ministry leaders at one of the nation’s largest churches. Veronica is the spokesperson for International Crisis Aid – a relief organization that rescues girls who are victims of sex trafficking. Through her efforts government agencies, schools and churches work together to eradicate this perverse epidemic that is plaguing our children. Veronica and her husband Jerry live in Southern with their four children. Visit the author's website.
