Geomate Jr. is the coolest gadget to get you and your family started with geocaching. If you don't know what geocaching is, it's a real-world outdoor treasure hunting game. Players try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using GPS-enabled devices and then share their experiences online. It's actually a really big thing around the world, and I've been interested in it for awhile. So when I recieved our Geomate Jr., we went right out and tried it. There were so many caches in our area to find, but we started out simple. We followed the directions on the Geomate Jr., and were surprised to find ourselves at the local library. I thought for sure we were in the wrong place, but we decided to go for it. We did sort of struggle at first once we got into the library, but our search did get us to the right place. The cache was a log book that you could sign and date, and then put back for others to find. We also learned that other libraries in our surrounding area have similar caches, so we plan to go on a library cache adventure soon! So much fun! The Geomate Jr. is "the easiest and quickest way to get in on the geocaching fun; just switch it on and be directed to your closest geocache! With over 250,000 pre-loaded cache locations covering all 50 U.S. states, you and your family could be out enjoying your own adventure before the packaging even hits the floor. Geomate Jr.; the anytime, anywhere, work out-of-the-box family-friendly geocacher."
