Frankie The Walk N' Roll Dog!

Frankie The Walk N’ Roll Therapy Dog Visits Libby’s House by Barbara Techel

About The Book: Award-winning true, inspirational story receiving 2010 Indie Excellence Award for Children's Non-Fiction. Frankie the Walk 'N Roll Dog keeps rolling along in her doggie wheelchair. This paralyzed dachshund's unabashed healing, exuberant spirit, and spunky personality is a blessed gift to everyone she befriends. In this true, inspirational story, Frankie tells how she became a registered therapy dog and shares her visits to Libby's House, a senior facility where many residents have Alzheimer's or dementia. Frankie teaches us that patience, listening, and understanding opens our hearts to what matters most-love. With this lovely book, Frankie will win your heart and inspire children to overcome whatever obstacles they face in life.

My Thoughts: I love Frankie. I want a Frankie of my own! What an adorable book that lets us all know it is okay to be exactly who we are! The book got a little long for Callan, we had to read it in two sittings. But I think for an older child, this book is great. Though Callan did “get it”. He said, “Frankie helps people.” Yup, there you have it. What an awesome dog Frankie is, and this is a great story.

About The Author: Barbara Techel's passion is bringing a positive face and voice to animals with disabilities. After her dachshund, Frankie suffered a spinal injury she was custom-fitted for a wheelchair and Barbara realized the beautiful opportunity she had to spread a positive message that animals with disabilities can and do live quality lives if given a chance. The award-winning Frankie, the Walk 'N Roll Dog series are true, inspirational stories about her paralyzed dachshund. Frankie teaches us that no matter our challenges, we can persevere with a positive attitude. And despite our challenges we can each give back in our own, unique way. Frankie is Wisconsin Pet Hall of Fame Companion Dog. 1. Thank you so much Hayley for sharing Frankie's therapy dog book with your blog followers. We really appreciate you helping us spread our positive message.

I just wanted to let you and your followers know I will be coming out with a Frankie coloring book sometime this year! It will also include much less text to help younger kids grasp and read the story, as well as the great opportunity to be creative and color. Plans are to also have a Frankie cut out, complete with a wheelchair to cut out, as well as outfits and hats to dress Frankie in.

If you are interested in keeping up with the release of the coloring book be sure to sign up for our updates on our website, www.joyfulpaws.com
We are very excited about this and think many kids will enjoy it.

Thank you again for featuring us on your wonderful blog!
