Scotch Tape Craft & Giveaway!

Thanks to Scotch(R) Double Sided Tape for sponsoring my writing about crafts. Add your comment below to be entered for a chance to win free sample rolls to help with your upcoming holiday needs.

We've only recently started to get into crafts with the kids, because they are just now getting old enough to do some things. Callan likes to put things together, so it is nice to be able to use tape. It is easy for him, and not messy for me! We recently did a pretty big craft, but it was so much fun to do with the kiddos. And ok, I admit, I did most of the work, but I had a blast doing it!

Here's the supplies you will need:
  • Crayons
  • Brown paper bags
  • Construction paper (white preferred for coloring)
  • Scissors
  • Scotch tape
Optional: Leaf templates. I used templates, but you could be artistic and cut out freehand leaf shapes.

Instructions:
We used two paper bags and cut them to open them up and taped them together, matching the fronts and backs. We then used the back side (or inside of the bag) because it was the blank side, and we drew a big tree with branches. Our tree was only about as tall as Callan (less than 4 feet) but you could go bigger. We then cut out the shape of the tree and taped it to the boys' bedroom walls. Then we colored our leaves. (I had previously cut out the leaves that I had traced from the templates). Once we were all done coloring, we taped the leaves to the trees anywhere we wanted. We even taped some leaves on the lower trunk of the tree because it is Fall time here and Callan said, "Mama, leaves fall down." It was kind of a lot of leg work for me, since I was the one who had to trace and cut out the leaves to prepare for this. But my goodness, the fun and laughter I had with Callan was worth it!

Scotch and 3M are generously offering 2 of my readers 5 rolls of double-sided tape each! Here's how to enter:
