Tips for Concealed Carry

Whether you are a new gun owner or an experienced firearm enthusiast, concealed carry is a unique privilege that should not be taken lightly. Here are some tips to make sure you are concealed carrying as effectively as possible.

Have Easy Access

Although the most common form of concealed carry is having your firearm on you, the term also applies to keeping it hidden in a handbag or even your vehicle. Be sure to know where your gun is at all times, so you can reach for it quickly and effectively in the event of an emergency where your own defense or protecting others is required. If you have a purse, ensure it is not in a zippered pocket.

Make Sure Your Weapon is Not Visible

Many times, it is still possible to see that you have a gun on you when you are concealed carrying. However, you can eliminate this issue by manipulating your apparel or investing in concealed carry clothing. For example, a concealment vest is a great piece of clothing that is designed specifically to make sure that your gun cannot be seen by a passerby.

Practice Drawing Your Firearm

When you are carrying concealed, you still need to produce your gun quickly in order to defend yourself. Therefore, it is important to practice techniques for drawing and aiming accurately at potential enemies. Find out where it is most comfortable to hold your gun, whether it be on your body directly, or in your handbag, and work from there. You can even practice drawing and firing if you are at a safe place to do so, such as a shooting range.
Concealed carry does not have to be a daunting prospect. With these tricks, you are sure to safely carry your weapon and still be prepared for any situation.
