The Virgin Diaries by Kimberley Johnson and Ann Werner
About The Book:
What does it feel like to lose your virginity? Seventy-two men and women answer that burning question. Hundreds of years of collective experience answer the questions every virgin has. The Virgin Diaries is a book about sex that really isn't about sex at all. Rather, it's about the feelings associated with that first time: wondering about it, worrying about it, the expectations, the surprises and the disappointments. Within these pages are the recollections of seventy-two people, young and old, gay and straight, who responded to the call for answers. This candid collection of stories provides a unique opportunity to be a fly on the wall. There is no commentary. The stories stand on their own, allowing the reader to form his or her own conclusions. Whether you are a virgin and desire to make an informed decision, a parent faced with "the talk" or are interested in reading detailed accounts of one of life's most personal experiences, The Virgin Diaries offers confidential insights and illustrates the commonalities we all share: our hopes, dreams, fears and insecurities. It shows that we are all human and therefore, all connected.
Everyone has a story about their first time, good or bad, and this book lets us into that world of personal stories that 72 men and women share. Being a female, I found the stories and feelings of the men most interesting. It sheds a light on the fact that they have some of the same emotions and feelings as we woman do on sex. It was a great read and I love the way the book is compiled, and the illustrations are fun too (not sexually graphic pics or anything). I do hope the authors carry on with reality based books, because this was an enjoyable, and knowledgeable, read.
About The Authors:
Kimberley A. Johnson was born in Baltimore, Maryland and raised in Southern California. During the 1980-81 school year, she lived with her father, a network news cameraman which provided the opportunity to attend the Anglo American School in Moscow Russia. She portrayed a police officer on the popular daytime drama Days Of Our Lives for over seven years. The make-up crew referred to her as "Diva Cop." She also has a background in sales, including fine bone china, perfume, industrial chemicals and energy and is now pursuing her dream of conquering the world. She resides in Northern California.
Ann Werner: I was born and raised in Baltimore Maryland, moved to Southern California in 1977, lived a few years near Sedona Arizona and now reside in Northern California. Along the way I have held a variety of jobs including bartender, cemetery plot salesperson, auto salesperson, actor and wine consultant, to name a very few. For seven and a half years I portrayed Eliana, maid to the evil Dimera family on Days of Our Lives. Fiction has always been my favorite medium but I've partnered with my daughter, Kimberley A. Johnson, to create The Virgin Diaries: the first of what we envision to be a series of reality books. You can take a peek at our website http://arkstories.com. Stop by and visit.
