I Miss My House - Challenge Day

I miss my house. Ok, so it was never my house. The Army owned it. Army Base Housing. But it was mine for the time I was there. I actually had two houses, both were base housing. The first one was small and cute, and I had my yard all done up nice with flowers and decorations. It was the house I "grew up" in. I mean that because it was the home I lived in alone for over a year when Jason was in Iraq, and that was the first time I was ever truly on my own. I had to learn how to care for a car on my own, how to mow the lawn, how to deal with finances and paper work - lots and lots of paper work in the Army. So that was my first house. And I do miss it. But when I say "I miss my house", I mean my 2nd Army house. When Jason got back from Iraq, I got preggers and we had to move to a bigger house. And that is the house I loved and miss. Again, had my yard all nice and decorated. I got to set up the nursery for Callan. We had two bathrooms! And tons of storage space. The kitchen was awesome. We had a garage. It was just great. And now that we are back in Minnesota (that was in Texas), we live in an apartment. Ugh. To go from your own house to an apartment is not easy. But we've been here 2 years now, and we are settled in. But not too settled in, mind you! We plan to buy a house in the next 3 years. Jason has to finish school first. And we gotta pay off the Lexus. Ha ha ha.

  1. It must be tough living somewhere that feels like "home" and then moving, especially to somewhere smaller.
